How to play

1. Objective

Fill every tile with a room before you run out of steps.

2. Room drafting and steps

Choose from up to three valid room options for the selected tile. Unselected rooms go to the discard pile. If needed, the discard pile is reshuffled into the draw pile.

Placing a room (and normally entering) on an adjacent tile costs 1 step. Moving into an adjacent already placed room also costs 1 step. You lose if the steps reach zero before you fill the board.

3. Scoring

Your score is: remaining steps + distinct room colors − doors to walls. Each door that does not connect to a matching door in an adjacent room counts as one door to wall, including doors to the edge of the house (but not the entrance).

4. Room abilities and icons

Icons show special abilities a room has. The shape around an icon shows when its ability applies:

The icons indicate what the ability does:

5. Luck

Is there luck in the game? No. Every time someone (anywhere in the world) starts a game on a given day (UTC) they face the same puzzle. The order of the rooms in the draw pile will be the same and, if the same decisions are taken, the rooms will appear with the same orientation. So, if someone solves the puzzle with a given score, you can also do it. Use a couple of runs to learn the order of the rooms in the draw pile and plan a strategy to obtain the most points. If I solve some technical issues a leaderboard with a unique entry will be implemented soon.
